Warner Home Video's Radiloff And Warner Bros. Records' Beug Also Join Board


     LOS ANGELES - April 18, 2002 - The DVD Entertainment Group (DEG), the industry association representing the major studios, record labels and consumer electronics companies dedicated to the promotion of the DVD format, announced the election of four new directors to its board, including its new president, Bob Chapek, president, Buena Vista Home Entertainment (BVHE). Other newly elected officers include Artisan Home Entertainment's Jeff Fink to CFO, Warner Home Video's Michael Radiloff and Warner Bros. Records' John Beug to directors.

     Chapek, who has been at BVHE since 1993, is responsible for the planning and development of the studio's strong DVD push into the family market. Under Chapek's leadership, BVHE has made significant strides with its Disney DVD and Vista Series brand lines. Since taking on the role as president of Disney's home video division in 2000, Chapek's group has not only been a consistent leader in the DVD market, but has also championed innovative, consumer-friendly DVD features for all BVHE releases.

    The DEG's newly elected CFO Jeff Fink serves as president of sales and marketing for Artisan Home Entertainment. Fink has held various marketing, sales, retail and distribution positions in the home video industry for more than 20 years and will bring this experience to serve as Chief Financial Officer for the trade association.

     Michael Radiloff, vice president of DVD marketing for Warner Home Video was also elected to the DEG board. Radiloff has assumed Warner Home Video's seat on the board left vacant from past DEG president Stephen Nickerson.

     Warner Bros. Records senior vice president of film, video, production and marketing John Beug was elected to the board as a director and will also serve as the chair of the DEG DVD-Audio Executive Committee. Under Beug's lead, Warner Bros. Records was one of first in the marketplace with DVD music video, launching titles such as "Eric Clapton: Unplugged," "Fleetwood Mac: The Dance" and "Paul Simon: Graceland." Beug was recently appointed the responsibility of overseeing Warner Music Group's long-form television production as well as DVD-Audio production.

     The DVD Entertainment Group is a Los Angeles-based, industry-funded nonprofit corporation that exists expressly to promote consumer awareness of the benefits of DVD-Video and DVD-Audio, and to provide updated information to the media and the retail trade about DVD players and titles.
