LOS ANGELES (July 28, 2008) – DEG: The Digital Entertainment Group (DEG) kicked off its 12th year as the industry’s leading association.

DEG Elects New President
           The DEG Board elected Ron Sanders its new President.  Sanders, the DEG’s sixth president, has been a member of the Board for four years.  The Board has re-elected Bob Chapek its Chairman.   

DEG Elects New Board of Directors and Executive Committee
            The voting member companies of the DEG also elected a new Board of Directors to serve for the coming fiscal year (August 1 – July 31).  The Board then voted to elect the five member Executive Committee comprised of Chairman, President, Vice President, Secretary and Chief Financial Officer.  These Officers are responsible for providing leadership and oversight of the DEG’s agenda, budget and Executive Staff. 
The three remaining Officers: Craig Kornblau was elected Vice President; Mike Dunn was elected Secretary; and Bob Weissburg was elected Chief Financial Officer. 

Green Ambassador Appointed
         The DEG announced the appointment of its new Green Ambassador, Larry Wilk, who also serves as Vice President, Worldwide Operations, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment. The DEG is dedicated to delivering content – be it physical or digital media – in an eco-friendly manner that is respectful of the environment.  The group is currently exploring solutions to enable a cleaner carbon footprint for packaging, manufacturing, shipping and merchandising of our products. The DEG aims to bring together participation from business, creative and manufacturing to develop partnerships toward building a sustainable future.  
         In his role as DEG Green Ambassador, Wilk will help evangelize the DEG green initiatives, including act as a conduit between the five recently formed DEG Green Task Forces: Metrics, Replication, Packaging, Logistics/Distribution and Retail Execution.
         At Disney, Wilk is responsible for global supply chain optimization, technology, control and reporting. He also leads their operational environmental efforts.

DEG Announces Working Committees
The DEG announced four working Committees for the coming fiscal year.  The four Committees – Technology, Content, Operations and Communications – help the membership accomplish its objectives.  The Board approves the agenda for each Committee, which meet monthly.  Committee volunteers serve for one year. 

TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE

Charter: To provide a balanced context on current and emerging technologies that impact members of the DEG and the marketplace. The Committee serves as a key resource for identification and assessment of future technology development that will have relevance.
