DIGITAL ENTERTAINMENT GROUP ELECTS NEW BOARD

New Executive Committee Elected and Executive Staff Appointed to Recently Re-chartered Group

LOS ANGELES (Sept. 9, 2003) - Beginning its new fiscal year with a revised mission, the Digital Entertainment Group (formerly the DVD Entertainment Group) has elected a new Board of Directors and Executive Committee (see enclosed). Additionally, the DEG Board of Directors appointed a full-time Executive Staff to lead the re-chartered trade association.

The DEG - a six-year-old trade association charged with promoting the DVD format - was recently re-chartered to also offer member companies a platform to engage in ongoing discussions concerning various issues and opportunities, which relate to other digital technologies that may emerge in the future. The DEG Board's Executive Committee is responsible for providing leadership and oversight of the DEG's overall agenda, budget and Executive Staff.

Buena Vista Home Entertainment President Bob Chapek remains President of the DEG, while Joe Stinziano, Sony Electronics, General Manager, Home Audio/Video assumes a new role as Vice President. DreamWorks Home Entertainment's Sandy Friedman has been reelected as DEG Secretary and Artisan Entertainment President, Sales & Marketing Jeff Fink has been reelected as DEG Chief Financial Officer. Emiel Petrone, Executive Vice President, Philips Corporate Alliance Group, remains as Chairman, a position he has held since the group formed in 1997.

Because of the added responsibilities and initiatives of the DEG, the Board of Directors has appointed a full time Executive Staff. Amy Jo Donner continues her role as Executive Director and will be assisted by Marc Finer as Technical Director and Emily Bradley, who assumes a full-time position as Associate Director.

As part of its re-positioning, the DEG has also created three Committees that will study new applications, technologies and opportunities for digital entertainment. The three Committees are the Technology Committee, the Content Committee and the Communications Committee.

"The DEG's unique partnership of hardware manufacturers and content providers has helped to make the DVD format a resounding success," said Bob Chapek, President, Buena Vista Home Entertainment and President, Digital Entertainment Group. "We are pleased to continue our work and to look for additional opportunities that relate to emerging technologies for digital home entertainment. By working together, we believe we offer the experience that is necessary to help guide our member companies in these new areas."
