About This Project

August 9, 2021 | Two new SVOD releases topped the SEA Top 20 VOD Premiere Movies (video on demand) list this week, with Warner Bros’ day-and-date release The Suicide Squad on HBO Max leading the pack at No. 1 easily. Animated musical Vivo on Netflix premiered at No. 2. On its fourth week, Netflix’s Cosmic Sin moved up 4 spaces to No. 3. With new titles coming in, Disney’s Jungle Cruise (PVOD) shifted down slightly to No. 4, while Universal’s F9: The Fast Saga and HBO Max’s Space Jam: A New Legacy saw no change at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively. Most previous titles stayed on similar spots, while Paramount’s A Quiet Place Part II (SVOD & EEST combined) moved up and came back on the list at No. 13. Amazon’s The Tomorrow War dropped slightly to No. 8, while Sony’s Early EST family title Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway witnessed a bigger drop from the top to No. 14 on its second week.

The top cumulative streaming, no change from the previous week, were three SVOD titles in the same ranking. Amazon’s The Tomorrow War remained at No. 1, HBO Max’s Space Jam: A New Legacy at No. 2, and Peacock’s The Boss Baby: Family Business at No. 3.

*Screen Engine/ASI’s Weekly Top Watched VOD Premiere Movies list is based on the incidence of respondents from the syndicated weekly PostVODTM online survey where they state which movies they viewed and how recently from a list of recently released VOD movies, in the past six weeks, including PVOD (Premium Video-On-Demand), EEST (Early Electronic Sell Thru), or SVOD (Subscription Video-On-Demand).
